... didn't mean to cause you any trouble with my question

But you did answer it for me: seems that in German this expression is used both for men and women when they get married, whereas in Estonian only for women. That's why it was funny for me We would've said something like 'Nathan hat Jessie unter der Haube gebracht' (hope i got it right, like he put the cap on her). Anyway, thanks, i got it now

I've begun to learn German on three different occasions now i believe, but i've always quit early on So i really understand and speak nur ein paar Worte But i enjoy greatly at guessing and puzzling what is said when i hear or see something in German

Thanks for your reply!
Have a great weekend!

good here. I understand about the hubby, mine doesn't even know I am twittering! Some things are best left unknown. He is also okay with my current obsession with this site but don't think he would take too kindly to the twitter site. I was going to tell you, don't know if you are on FB but if you are, look up my link on my Twitter profile, I would love to have you as a friend on there as well! Talk soon! xoxo

*waves hello* I believe we've met on the forum, but not on this side yet

Firstly, thanks for posting the wedding pics. Beautiful pics, they are such a handsome couple

Secondly, you speak German, don't you? Could you help me out a bit please. I understand only a few words in German, but the news title on the front page 'Nathan ist unter der Haube' has been driving me nuts: isn't it something you'd say about a woman?! Isn't the 'Haube' the hat that only married women used to wear back in the old days? In Estonian we have the same saying and it applies only to women. So it'd make more sense if it were said about Jessie, but Nathan... Am i right?

But then again, maybe it's all correct. After all there are photos of him wearing a princess's crown so perhaps the 'Haube' isn't all wrong

Take care!
E.
