about me

I live in Southern California about an hour North of L.A. I heard the music guy on E! talking about a band called Kings of Leon and their hit song Sex on Fire. I checked them out on SNL, bought the new cd and was hooked.I worked my way backward through the catalog of albums enjoying each one more than the last. I wish I could have started at the begining. Oh, well. I love listening to all kinds of music as long as it's loud (except rap). I also enjoy reading, gardening and cooking. Typical boring stuff. Going to concerts is one of my absolute favorite things to do. I've been to so many I've lost track. There's nothing better than going to a show having a few (or many) cocktails and the anticpation in waiting for that first note. It's pretty much the only time I enjoy sweating and if I can't talk the next day I know I had a good time. Can't imagine how I'll feel if I ever make it to a KOL show...

the movie was based on a book. I think the movie is probably much 'lighter' if the book was a horror/thriller novel. I felt the main focus of the movie was Oscar's sad life and his willingness to accept some darkness in order to find a friend

I'm not normally into horror stories bt now I'm intrigued about the book . . .

our KOL discovery was very similar. As I worked backwards through their CDs I couldn't believe how much I really liked EVERY song. (even more than when I discovered Zeppelin in the 80's) It's been a looong time since I've found a band (currently in existence) that I'm so excited about!
