ABOUT ME
I have been a Kings of Leon fan for three years now. I Live in a remote place and do not get the opportunity to see a lot of my favorite music performed live; luckily When I was touring through europe I got the chance to see Kings of Leon live. It was the singlemost rockin' experience of my entire life; well, certainly the best show I've ever seen or heard (negating the fact that I caught the flu in spain the previous day and that the British university students have a weird way of enjoying their tunes...they press into each other as tightly as possible and well, basically beat the shit out of each other...oh and throw pints at each other (who throw's away a perfectly good pint)) Anyway...They are currently my favorite band, and have been for the past few years. My buddy ronan turned me onto the album "youth and young manhood" which was just pure rock gold...not tainted by any bullshit and something completely refreshing for me at that time...(because I couldn't/can't stand the strokes' drone rock bullshit...when everyone else loved it.) So my friend group here in Newfoundland (Island off the east coast of Canada) have adopted Kings of Leon as our anthemic 'group band." We all love Kings of Leon, we all share the same love for the same musically moments and well crafted lyrics and we all get a rush of energy from listening to the rock or croon of Kings of Leon. And we also get shitfaced and blast Aha Shake on repeat. I think that Aha Shake Heartbreak is the singlemost valuable rock album of the 21st centuary...certainly the most rocking in this new mellinum and the most refreshing, therefore the most innovative...you can also see, already the influence and impact they are having on new music. Because of the Times is also a brilliantly crafted album and rocks and croons but has a new element which i've grown to love. If the Kings of Leon continue to release this awesome music and continue to grow their sound as they have (while maintaining rockin' as fuck) then they will continue to be my favorite band. Oh and if anyone is ever in Newfoundland look up my band The Comuppins on myspace and hopefully you can catch a gig.
thanks,
