this was my first concert and i've gotta say it was amazing. for monthes my mom and i have been saying "they should start with closer" and the second they started playing that, i was jumping and screaming as loud as i could!!!! they got my heart racing from the very beginning. i didnt want to forget that night so i was recording it on my phone. i wish i wouldn't have though because it just took my attention away from the bands amazing talent. i was let down by my own actions
i wish i would have just enjoyed it. i also wanted to see them after the concert but my mom said i probably wouldnt be able to go where they were because there would probably be drinking and i wouldnt be allowed in. i was mad to say the least. but it was still a great show. i loved the concert!!! and i found it hilarious when caleb announced his grandmother was there for the first time and that she would probably never come again after the next song. and then they went right in to sex on fire! that was great
Thanks so much for this great expirience!!!!
oh and one more thing: they only showed caleb on the tv the entire time. i wanted to see the whole band (especially jared) and i was disappointed at how unhappy jared seemed.
i was so excited i was going to be able to see him and the cameras never showed him plus he had his back turned to the crowd a lot of the time. this is no dis on jared i just wonder what he was thinking about. i want to help but obviously i cant. so with that i shall stop typing and just one more comment... i LOVE the band and i hope jared sorts out whatever is wrong.
Crazy Show!!!

This was the best concert Ive ever been to! The crowd was crazy and you could feel that the Kings were geeked to be in Nashville!!!! Start to finish great show. I loved Caleb's speech too...quit hatin'.
Will go see them again...ANY time they are close.
The guy above forgot to mention my fav KOL song in the set list...Slow Night, So Long was the end of the first set, before the encore...they frickin rock the Sommet roof off!
Much love Followill's...hope to see you around the Ville.
An amazing show that could have been even better.

I'd have given this four and a half stars if that was an option, but it isn't.
Standing in line with a easily a hundred others two hours before the doors even opened and over three before the four 'Kings' would even set foot on stage had me thinking this would be a show to remember. And it was.
I've seen the Kings play once before here, where I live, in MI. That show was great save for the fans in this area, a bunch of posers and jokers that barely knew half the lyrics to the songs. When Milk was played, here at the Place At Auburn Hills, I heard "Walk with me," and "Stand with she," and a lot of other things that wasn't the correct "salty leave." That was sad. Aside from the the crowd the show was great though.
The Nashville audience was ten times better. People knew the words to the songs and you could hear the whole of Sommet Center singing along with everything Caleb was belting out.
Caleb and Mathew joked on stage saying things you couldn't hear, but could guess were things like, "Never thought we'd be here." Jarred looked bored though and the same was true when the Kings of Leon played in Michigan. I'm not sure why, but of the four he seemed to be the least into things. I recently read that he wouldn't be a fan of the group if he wasn't a part of it. I'm not sure if that's true or not, but you can't help but think it could be seeing how unenthusiastic he was on stage. Maybe that's just him, I don't know, but I don't think I saw a smile out of him once. Nathan was fun to watch though. Up a little higher than the other three he worked those drums like the pro he is while chewing gum and blowing bubbles as if to say, "Yep, I'm good enough to do four things at once." Haha.
The following set-list did not disappoint:
Closer
Crawl
Be Somebody
Taper Jean Girl
Molly's Chambers
Frontier City
Fans
Revelry
I Want You
My Party
Charmer
Four Kicks
The Bucket
Sex On Fire
Notion
Manhattan
Cold Desert
Slow Night, So Long
And then the three song encore:
Knocked Up
Use Somebody
Black Thumbnail
I don't remember the exact set-list from here in MI but, I thought the encore was longer with four or five songs, I might be wrong though.
The Kings of Leon didn't play much differently or do anything all that special for their hometown that they didn't do here in Michigan. What made the show better, maybe one of their best, wasn't them though, it was us. The crowd sang along with every single song. I don't know the percentage of people that knew the words but I'd have to say, from the sound one row from the very front on the floor, it was well over half. These were real Kings of Leon fans at this show, not just people that have heard Use Somebody or Sex On Fire played on the radio countless times (I think I heard Use Somebody a dozen times on my ride from MI to TN.)
I heard people in the GA Floor Line (before the show) talking about how they'd seen the Kings play four times, or more, before.
All told from the opener 'Closer' to the final note of 'Black Thumbnail' this was an incredible show. I just wish that the Kings of Leon would have done something a little more special, maybe a longer set, maybe a second encore, maybe a song or two they rarely, if ever, do live. Maybe the Holy Grail of shows, a new never before heard song. Given none of those things happened I'm not upset, just ever so slightly let down. And Jarred, hey man, don't look so down on stage. You have millions of adoring fans, what on earth do you have to be so sad about?

3rd house,
I just have to let you know how much I respect your love for real musicians. Everyday in my life I am surrounded by struggling musicians and it feels really nice to hear of someone actually appreciating a bands progress and their music in a real sense. I totally agree with everything you said and I appreciate you posting your thoughts!! I will for sure stick with this band to the end, also.
one for the ages

there was no doubt that the boys were ready to play to their hometown fans. they absolutely killed on that stage. i couldn't beleive it when they played "Frontier City," it was incredible. and no matter how many times i see them play "Cold Desert" live (3 btw) it gives me the biggest chills. it is probably my all time favorite song. its just so sad. it was so funny when caleb said that their grandma was there to see them for the first time, and that after hearing the next song, she probably wouldn't ever see them again. then they went right into "sex on fire." i've been fortunate enough to see them 4 times, and every time they just get better. i will stand by this band until the very end, for they are the most real band i've ever come across, and i think their passion and desire can be heard in every single song you will ever hear them play. again, sorry for being so wordy, but i just get very passionate and start rambling when i talk about these guys.
peace
Amazing!

I have seen at least 40 bands live and KOL, by far, sounded the best. I had faith anyway, but they seriously exceeded my expectations and impressed me! They were my favorite band already and they now have even more of my respect! It didn't hurt that I was front row. :-) Thanks for the amazing show guys and I will definitely be back!!
Great show!

It was good to see that some in the city of Nashville might have finally realized what an amazing band they have right here in their own backyard!!!
