Gang,

To all of you who had a great time at your show, I say... Thank God. Even though myself, and most other people that got COMPLETELY jobbed at the Council Bluffs show, it is still great to know that they shook off that miserable night, and didn't continue to take it out on the fans.

It is obvious someone said something(s) to either Caleb, and/or the rest of the band after our miserable show. I am hard pressed to think any of the band members read any of the reviews. Yet, that being said, I'd sure like to think that maybe someone from the crew, or the production teams do read the reviews, and send some of that feedback back to the band.

I think it is FANTASTIC that Caleb thanked you guys multiple times. THAT is the professionalism that should be expected from these guys, and all other artists that would have NOTHING if it wasn't for, 'us'.

Very happy for all of you. I really, really am. I would have been even more angered and distraught to find out that they let the previous night roll into their next show.

Good job out of you Followills. Good, good job. Way to shake off a horrible night for (most) everyone, and be true professionals and 'bring it' the very next night.

I have certainly calmed down since last Monday night. Yet, I do lament we had to endure the nuclear meltdown Caleb had.

That being said... On their NEXT tour, they OWE it to everyone in Iowa to come back, and absolutely melt our faces off!

Congrats KC!!

Me and my hubby were in the 5th row and even though I had two cameras, I could not get a good pic at all! Caleb's voice is amazing, most artists I have seen (and I have seen a ton in my time) sound a bit different live, but Caleb, boy you got something awesome there, a true gift from God. I am aware of your family history, as I've read up on it and the night before this show my hubby was online and read there may not be another tour. I pray to God that what he read was not credible in any way, which is one reason I think you may've thanked us and told us you are thankful for what you have, so many times. I felt like you were saying goodbye...please tell us this is not true!! Come back to KC soon and I gurantee I will "BE THERE!!!!!!!!!"!! I love you KOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, so let's address the comments that were made about being thanked too much during the show. Seriously?!? Who bitches about that? Honestly?! I'm thinking that here's a band that knows they've got some kick ass fans that come out in the cold rain to see them, buy the records and wear the shirts and they just want to show a little gratitude for the love and support. There are a lot of people in this world that forget the art of a sincere "thank you". Caleb isn't one of them. Oh and for the record, he didn't thank the crowd "every 5 minutes"!
Now, let's talk about the comments made about the Council Bluffs show. First I wasn't there, so I can only go off of MY interpretation of the reviews. That said, what I take from it is this: Here's a band that wants to go out on stage and give their fans the best experience ever. When the sound is off and nothing is flowing right, you're bound to get pissed off. People pay good money to be there. ESPECIALLY in the current economy. Perhaps Caleb didn't handle it in the best way. Maybe he took it a little too far. But in my eyes, if he's pissed it's because he knows it's not perfect and it's because that's what he wants to give to the crowd. If I was there, I'd worry less about him saying "F it let's get drunk" and more about the fact that he was standing up for the fans!
I first saw them live this year in May. Santa Barbara Bowl, an outdoor venue in Santa Barbara, CA. I stood there simply BLOWN away. In an age of lip-synching and big productions that are more for the eye than the ear, I was delighted to step foot into a place where I could hear some serious music. We were thanked an appropriate amount of times and I found myself falling more in love with a band that knows how to thank a crowd but make it seem like they're thanking me personally. It was my first KOL show - but it would definitely not be my last!!!
So when I heard that they were coming to Kansas City, I knew I wasn't going to miss it. And I was excited to see them at a venue like the Sprint Center. From the first note to the last I stood there in awe! I was on Cloud 9!! They came out and gave the crowd a serious dose of some good effin' rock and roll! The energy in the place was infectious and the KOL's appreciation of that did not go unnoticed. Obviously, Caleb had some time to reflect on the night before and his comment about "not sweating the small stuff" was specifically obvious and generally something we should all keep in mind! Thanking the crowd just shows that they are aware that without the fans, they'd simply be painting houses and playing music in their garage in their spare time. These guys want to give us all that they have. And, on Tuesday night, they delivered. They can thank me "every 5 minutes" any day of the week!!
To the Followill's: Thank you for an amazing show and for caring about the product you put out! I'll wait - eagerly - for your next record, and I'll see you (more than twice this time) on your next tour! Love.... Me!

I was totally confused by Caleb thanking the crowd every five minutes, but it was sweet. Then I went home and read Metalsman's review and went "Ohhh. Got it." They rocked out, but you could tell there was something there that kept it all kind of muted in a way. They need some rest, BADLY. Would see them again, but only after a hiatus! I feel a sorry for them being burnt out, and I feel sorry for the Iowa show getting the blunt of that.

Great show, though I'd have loved a few more from the first album. Band seemed pretty dark wondering what Caleb seemed to want to talk about, sweating the small things, etc. Sort of a weird vibe but they sounded great.

Can anyone tell me the song that came on the p.a. after the band left the stage? I recognized it but couldn't place it before exiting and it's bugging me... (EDIT: Finally figured it out.. Devotchka's "How it Ends")

For me to say truthfully i thot ROCK was dead after what happend to Kurt and Nirvana for a long time there hasnt been much to listen to, besides Pearljam i love ED and the guys!!! But K.O.L has renewd my faith and doubts and has brought back that sound with a f*cking vengence. Thank you guys and crew for a show that i will never forget.

I read the reviews from Tuesday's show, and you could tell the band tried to makeup for what was a terrible night in Iowa by thanking the crowd almost after every other song. They could have thanked us by playing more of the old stuff! Still a great show.
