Great job boys! I thoroughly enjoyed myself, didn't think the Whigs were half bad either...their sound wasn't great but they had terrific energy. Good Lord the Kings are an attractive bunch...they are also incredibly talented live! Caleb's voice is better in person. Can't wait to see them again!!!! Also EXCELLENT set list, only songs missing were California Waiting and Ragoo...but you can't fit 'em all i guess.
love love love.

Overall KOL was dope. The venue was absolutely horrible. That stadium is so steep and the parking around SDSU isn't that great. We got lost after the concert trying to find our car.
Anyway, The Whigs were absolutely horrible and I mean horrible. Yuck. They were interesting to watch, but i would have liked to have had ear plugs in.
The kings were amazing. I wish I was on the floor so I could get a closer look at them. I was bummed that I had to stand behind some big-headed douche-bag that wouldn't sit down. The floor would have been ideal because they, the floor people, weren't going crazy and starting pits. I'm sure the other females on the floor appreciated a not-too-agressive crowd on the floor.
KOL were great. They made me teary-eyed a few times, but I concealed it so my bf wouldn't get jealous/think I'm crazy/ or emotionally distraught.
Security was b.s.. They should have let more people on the floor and they tried to shut me down while filming on my tiny-ass camera. I still continued in stealth mode, but I don't appreciate security telling me I can't record. It's not like i had some high tech camera or anything.
The crowd was okay. There were seriously no ugly people that I saw in the venue. I enjoyed the fact that the crowd knew all of their songs and sang them loud and proud!
Lastly, I would totally go to another KOL concert in the future. They make amazing music. YAY!!!

This is the 4th time I've seen the Kings after seeing them open for Dylan at the Phil Graham in San Francisco, at Coachella 2 years back and at the Warfield in San Francisco. At each of these shows I was just one of a hoard of dedicated fans that fought their way to the floor and injected an enthusiasm and passion that contributed to the overall feeling of the show. I have seen their live act steadily improve over the years and love participating in the high-tempo feel good groove that they construct at concerts. Although the Kings performed very well the other night, the security guards were SO restrictive and people on the floor SO unenthusiastic I felt embarassed for the citizens of San Diego. I am a San Diego native and I was ashamed to see the lack of enthusiasm from the people on the floor. No dancing, no pits during songs like Four Kicks and when I tried to jump the barricades after leaving my awfully angled seat assignment I was tackled by four security, taken outside the venue and arrested by San Diego Sherrifs. I hope stories like these are specific to the San Diego show but I have a sneaking suspicion that the newfound radio coverage and U.S. commercial success for the Kings has brought in a new audience that is less pure, less enthusiastic and less willing to combat bullshit Gastapo security guards for their love of the band and their need to two-step it out on the floor. Never seeing them in SD again. Fuck Elite Security.

This was the first time I got to see them in concert and it was unbelievable. They sounded even better live! That is a rare thing to find... I was worried that they would only play songs from Only By The Night, but that was not the case. They played a lot of their hits from their other records as well! Loved it!!!! I hope they come back to SD soon, I would see them any and every time they came down....
