Great show. A little short indeed. Yes Caleb wasn't in a great mood. But hey, he's only human too. Everyone can have a bad day. I don't think the lifestyle should be underestimated. At the end of it all: the real fans who love all of the music will stay their fans. Came from Belgium, went in Amsterdam too. They play great, great music. Love you guys.

Ok, I wasn't there but it's a shame that the set was so short with no encore.
Shame on the so called fan who was shouting obscenities, I don't understand these people who got to a gig to insult artists in such a way, but at the end of the day, he's made a complete idiot out of himself and ruined the evening not only for the band but for the genuine fans too.
Musicians are people too with feelings and from what I've heard, Caleb is very sensitive, can you imagine if he did carry out his threat and left even earlier!
I've seen these boys play 11 times now and have enjoyed each show immensely!
Please, don't let this particular gig put you off, if you do get another opportunity to see them again then do, I promise that it will be much better and you will be hooked like me!

I saw this band twice the week before in manchester and 1 thing is certain the more you give the more you get back! There is a crowd developing which I refer to as the "sex on fire" crowd, whereas they love that song but are totally stumped by the rest of the back catalogue which is truly tremendous. These guys rock and they have never let me down but I would honestly say that the majority of the dutch crowd that night were awful. You could spot the travellers and true fans a mile off!! Concerts are hot and sticky and who the hell gets air con!! c'mon guys. KOL rock !!

We maybe are a weird "funny" crowd, but we rocked, just like KoL did! It was about 35 dergrees Celsius in there, no airco, and I was singin' my heart out. I was one of the lucky ones to stand row 10 in front of the stage. I could see them perfectly. As far as I know, the beerthrowing thing was AFTER they left the stage. Two plastic glases, that's it. I was absolutely flabbergasted when they didn't came back........ I was looking very forward to hear KoL sing: Knocked Up, Manhattan, DEVIL SONG etc etc.........
Again, I was lucky to get two arena tickets for the best band ever, but it would be the perfect night if they came back for their encore.......

This show rocked! Their performance was great, but didn't expect anythinhg else. Loved all songs!

I also noticed that the crowd wasn't really behaving like a typical Dutch crowd (read: party till you drop) but didn't let this spoil my mood. Unfortunately it did spoil mr. Followil's. Think he forgot all those people paid and came to see them and nobody else but them. Too bad a lot of fans left Ahoy with a bittersweet aftertaste..Could have ended differently. Think the whole beer story is just overdone. Didn't see any beer when they left the stage, and even if there was..there were miles between the crowd and the stage plus the cups were plastic, pff.

Either way, I loved their performance but next time I'll come and watch them on Werchter or hopefully Lowlands one more time, not in a crappy venue like Ahoy!

My Wife gave me the best BDay present ever. 4 Days in Amsterdam and KOL in Rotterdam. Flew from the USA to see the band and Caleb complained the entire show about the heat and the fans. The band sounded great but played only 15 songs in an hour and 10 minutes with no encore as opposed to their 20+ song, multiple encore sets I have seen them play before in the past. It was hot for all of us and Caleb had the chance to make this gig something special with the heat and show us how the rooster (from the south mind you...where it is kinda hot) can get pissed and turn that energy into something beautiful and memorable but instead he went the other way with it like a big baby and walked off of the stage after complaining all night. Nathan gave the road crew some drumsticks to give to the fans to try and settle them down but the damage was already done. According to Nathans twitter page Caleb had a beer thrown in his face when he was walking off the stage. That could be the least of the worries if they continue to anger those fans (like me) that love the band, tell everyone about them, travel to see them, and buy their albums. Very dissapointed with the show. I posted some clips from the show including the fans stunned after they left the stage: http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=gtonsta&search_type=&aq=f

They played for about 1:10 hour. No encore. Caleb seemed to be annoyed with the audience. I finally got to see them live and got disappointed. I was expecting at least a few more songs at the encore. Huge crowd that only stands there watching... as I understood what Caleb said there seemed to be someone shouting 'rednecks' which bothered him and even made him threat to leave the stage if that continued. Dutch audiences are definitely weird. I think most of the crowd didn't know the band at all with the exception of 'sex on fire', 'crawl' and 'use somebody'. Anyway, there's no excuse to a band living such a great moment and playing for just an hour. If they were just beginning with only one album under their arm that could be understood. But not now after all music press call them 'the greatest band in the world'. Too short. Too bad.
