Last Chance

I agree with the first review, that this might be the last chance to see these guys in such a close setting. Except for the fact that only 3 radio stations in Boston play just Sex on Fire only once in a while, and at the same time ignore all their older stuff. It doesn't make any sense that they could be flat-out ignored for 5 years here. Anyway, they were unbelievable in concert. I couldn't believe how clear the sound was in the Orpheum Theater. What they lacked in overall quantity, they made up for it 10 fold in quality. They could have played a bit more off Youth and Youngmanhood, and I love Notion off Only By the Night... love to hear it at some point... but each song played just rolled without hesitation into the next drum pounding, croud chanting epic Rock song!!!
Amazing show! The Sound was flawless.

Wow, I can't believe how good the show was last night. I've seen many concerts in the Orpheum and it is usually hit or miss how the sound quality will be. I guess it also depends where your seats are; but the sound was spot on and more than loud enough. The Kings took the stage around 9:20PM. The setlist didn't really stray much from reviews of previous shows. They opened with Closer, Crawl, My Party. Then mixed in some great older tunes like Taper Jean Girl, Razz, and Four Kicks, which was the highlight of the show for me. They encored with Knocked up, Manhattan, Charmer, Black Thumbnail. No fans, or Arizona in setlist though. Those are two of my faves. The crowd was pretty good overall. There was quite a bit of dancing, and Caleb said it was the best crowd he'd seen so far. I imagine he must say that every night though. It really was amazing to see these guys in such an intimate venue. It might be the last time because they are poised to blow up around here and start playing arenas. I wish I was going to the second show tonight!
