back to me, a smile
splayed on your burgundy lips

I pressed my face
to your window and smiled,
shuddering against the cold
panes

me to not hear your voice
but thankful gravity
finds solace in heart again
as the early mourning

makes way into noon and twilight,
I shut my eyes and smile, relieved
because after waiting, you
came
