I'm So Sad Today.....

I know this is a Kings of Leon site, but its about music in general too, right? Well, I'm really upset right now; one of the members of Boyzone died yesterday, and its just really got to me.

For any non-UK members, Boyzone were an Irish boyband who first came out in the early 90s, they split in 2000 and just reformed in 2008. I was 9 when their first single came out and I was absolutely mad on them. My bedroom was covered in their posters, so much so that you couldn't even see my wallpaper, I was completely obsessed with them, kind of like I am with the Kings but it was heightened cos I was so young. Girls will know what I'm talking about; when you're 13 you genuinely believe you'll meet them and they'll love you back! Anyway, after they split I moved on to Westlife, lol, then obviously my taste evolved and I got into music such as KOL. Then in 2008 when I heard Boyzone were reforming, I was first in the queue for show tickets! Much as I loved them, I never got to see them first time round, and I'm not ashamed to say I had a ball! I've now seen them 3 times and all the lovely memories come back each time.

I woke up today to the news that one of the members, Stephen, has died. He was only 33. I'm devastated. These guys were the first group I ever fell in love with; if it wasn't for them I would never have developed my obsessive nature and probably wouldn't be as big a KOL fan as I am. I've had so many good times listening to them and so many of their songs remind me of things from my childhood. Even though I'm only 24 it feels like a lifetime ago when I had all those posters up and had their first album on cassette! Anyway, I just wanted to say, RIP Stephen......

thanks for the memories.

I was shocked when I heard about that! I'm really sad. R.I.P. Stephen.

I met Boyzone after their first album was released and Stephen was so nice, I'll never forget that.Fame never went to his head and he always remained well grounded.
