Caleb going solo?

Following the rumours that KOL had a massive bust up after both T In The Park and Oxegen, me and my Dad were having a discussion about the future of KOL. Now don't get me wrong, we both adore KOL, and they are easily one of our top 5 bands ever, but at some time every band has to break up.

I'm not saying KOL are breaking up, we were just wondering what would happen to the boys if they did. In most bands, the lead singer goes solo most of the time, so in this case it would be Caleb. In this discussion, I was strong in my belief that KOL would never split, and if they did, none of the boys would launch a solo career, because i think they're too close nit as a family. My Dad however believes that with his voice and guitar skills, Caleb would be the one to launch a solo career.

Thinking about it, I think that given the chance, Caleb would be somebody (song plug intended) new on the solo artist scene, IF and only IF the band were to split. My question to you guys (and gals) is how do you reckon his solo career would go if it were to happen?

I personally think Caleb would do very well on his own, with his fantastic lyrics and gorgeous voice, but I don't think he would match the heights that he's reached being part of KOL. It would be nice to see Caleb give it a go on his own, as a kind of experient, as long as KOL were to comeback afterwards.

Thier with each other all the time.If i spent as much time with my bro we'd be swinging at each other all the time.They have done the hard yards for years now,i dont think they would ever split,but if they did they would all kick ass.

maybe they'd all do their own things, they all seem pretttty musically inclined. maybe not a solo career but they all have musical connections and the ability to start their own new bands with other talented people. like how jack white is in the dead weather with alison mosshart from the kills. that way maybe we could all see more of their own style then that of all of theirs combine. but they're the best and i'd rather not have them break up at all cause they are the fuuucking shit!

Family always argue tbh. Wouldn't be family otherwise.
Although Caleb goin alone wud be pretty cool, but he prob would be nothing without the other three..Anyways no need to worry there not goin anywhere fast..

my sis & I had a discussion on Leb as well.
he'd make his own country album and make country 'hip' again.. and lots of young kids would get inspired by him to learn how to play guitar blablabla
& in the end he'd win a Grammy for best country album whahahaha

NEARLY HAD A SEAN CONNERY WHEN I READ THIS,I DONT THINK THEY WILL SPLIT,THEY ARE ALWAYS SCRAPING AFTER ALL THEY ARE BROTHERS.I THINK THE PRESSURE IS GETTING TO THEM,A GOOD HOLIDAY WITH NO PRESS INTRUSION AFTER THERE TOUR DATES WILL SORT THEM OUT.THE WORLD WITHOUT KOL IS DEPRESSING.
