After enjoying hundreds of listens to the four king's records so far in their young career, this remains their best album. More than a collection of their latest work, these songs seem to slide into one another without becoming too same-y... because you can't get bored with classic, chiming guitar lines, a vocalist who snarls and moans lines like "aha, sha-hake, taperjeangiiirrrl, with the motel faaace." with perfect phrasing that pulls against the beat of some of the best drumming you've ever heard. If you listen to this whole record alone with full attention one time and you are not struck by its excellence and originality, then rock and roll, as a music style, is not for you. Highly underrated when it was released, this is one of the best recordings of the new millennium, and the one that showed the world that Kings of Leon was a band with way more up their sleeves than most people had guessed.

There is no sophomore slump here, Aha Shake Heartbreak is the real thing. Experimental melodies and engaging lyrics make this album memorable. Kudos to Caleb for singing about insecurities just as balding and going soft (Soft, Milk, The Bucket) with such honesty and triumphant rock attitude. Check out Nathan's drumming, he will kick your ass. The boys are getting better and better, and AHS is must have for any music lover's album collection.

What a great band! Their albums just keep getting better. Can't wait for Only by the Night to come out. My favorite song on the CD is soft. I think the lyrics are something every drunk guy can relate to.

Brilliant follow up to y&ymh though not quite as good, so hard to better a debut that was so strong... standing on its own without taking y&ymh into account aha is absofuckingbloodybrilliant

I love every single one of these songs on this album! Its the first KOL album that I listened to and is still my favourite! Been hooked on the Kings ever since. Its so raw and captures what the KOL are all about. Love 'Because Of The Times' and 'Youth & Young Manhood' too! Can't wait for 'Only by the Night' to come out. See you in Nottingham boys!
